There are thousands of world religions today that have gone out and proclaimed that they are the true way to salvation yet all except one (Christianity) are based off of good works here on earth. Many of them take the deepest of critical thinking skills and the strongest of faith in order to even believe them. Jehovah witnesses have predicted twice that the world would end on a certain date and it never happened, in return they actually altered some of their teachings. They also believe that Jesus is Micheal the archangel which would take a strong kind of faith to believe such a contradiction from the scriptures that they claim to have used. There is a clear distinction in the bible about who God is and who the angels he created are. God created all things and he was manifested in the flesh through Jesus Christ therefore he can't be equal with an angel which he created.
1 Timothy 3:16
"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory." *Gentiles just means those who aren't Jews.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men."
You also have to be careful when strictly following certain tradition systems of Christianity for too long because if it turns more into following simple traditions then you can unknowingly veer yourself away from having the necessary personal 1 on 1 relationship with the Lord. Some people only go to church because it's a habit or because someone made them go and they in fact don't have a personal relationship with the Lord! They don't have conviction when partaking in certain things of the world which can be dangerous over time because you could lose out on salvation for all eternity.
2 Timothy 4:3-4
"For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths."
The one thing that false religions have in common is that they all attempt to deny the exclusivity of what Jesus Christ did and also how he made salvation for humanity possible. They all speak against his name and some even say they believe in Jesus but their beliefs about him are far from what the bible says which makes what they believe a "false christ". The list of mainstream false religions are but aren't limited to jehovah witnesses, buddhist, islam, mormonism, hebrew israelites, 7th day adventist, spiritualism, judaism, hinduism, and new thought ect.
2 Corinthians 4
"Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God."
"So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death."
2 Timothy 2:25-26
"Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth. Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil’s trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants."
Hebrew israelites go around asking people what their nationality is and try to pick and choose different scriptures our of context to tell black people how they're israelites and that Jesus only died for some people. They don't read the full context of the scriptures they use and in return they get lead astray into believing empty fallacies. The scripture below debunks their whole belief system.
"For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus."
Mormons believe that we will all become gods one day but the Lord clearly speaks against that in the scriptures. Their beliefs are based on a revelation from "Joseph Smith" and he taught that there were many gods before the Lord and that one day we could become a god ourselves which is false. So do we believe in a mere human or what Jesus who was perfect actually said himself? I could go in depth about many more other teachings and debunk them but I wanted to put this out there for those who had questions or wanted to know more about these listed above. Email me on the contact page if there are any questions no matter how dumb you may think the question is!
“But you are my witnesses, O Israel!” says the Lord. “You are my servant. You have been chosen to know me, believe in me, and understand that I alone am God. There is no other God--there never has been, and there never will be. I, yes I, am the Lord, and there is no other Savior."
There are many beliefs out in the world as to who Jesus Christ is and what he ultimately did. Over the years many false religions and gods have took their own interpretations and twisted the words of what Jesus said while he was here on this earth as a human. The bible is the only authoritative word that hasn't twisted what Jesus truly said after he was sent to this earth by our Father in heaven. The scripture below was a warning from God about this very issue.
"Suppose there are prophets among you or those who dream dreams about the future, and they promise you signs or miracles, and the predicted signs or miracles occur. If they then say, ‘Come, let us worship other gods’—gods you have not known before—do not listen to them. The Lord your God is testing you to see if you truly love him with all your heart and soul."
1 John 5:3-5
Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome. For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
Isn't it funny how all other religions are said to be non offensive except Christianity. That should say something about the authenticity of it. The truth is what sets people permanently free. The name of Jesus is literally the only name that offends people. He is our key to victory in this world today. Learn to call upon his name during the good and bad times. His name alone brings the needed power to turn ones life around. Many people today are treading on a thin line with God merely because of their words towards and against him. It's not a fairytale that you heard in school. His mercy alone is the reason some people & celebrities are even still living today and he gives everyone the same opportunity to commit to him.
"Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see--such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together."
“You are My witnesses,” says the Lord, “And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me. I, even I, am the Lord, And besides Me there is no savior."
The two scriptures above talk about the creation and how God created all things. Jesus was the son of God sent in the flesh for all humanity to visibly see. It's very important also to understand that our Father in heaven, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are all the same God but are 3 co-eternal persons. God is in heaven and has orchestrated all things. Jesus was his visible image that came to earth for the purpose of saving humanity by his death and providing the only way to an eternal life and salvation. The Holy Spirit is what's here with us today and has the same power that Jesus had when he walked the earth which is why you see miracles, signs, wonders, and healing's made possible today.
“Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell."
Not long ago I saw someone in a movie mention this small passage and it really hit me as it relates to a big portion of this society and the lifestyles that we willingly live in without any remorse or conviction for it. This person said "Sometimes the devil allows people to live a life free of trouble because he doesn't want them turning to God. The sin is like a jail cell except it's nice and comfy that people don't see the need to leave until one day time runs out and the cell door slams shut and then it's too late to accept and receive Christ for all eternity." This is a powerful message in itself to those who live any kind of way and think that they can rest in peace with Jesus Christ for eternity but don't have to live for him during their earthly lives.
"Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins."
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made."
In the beginning of time God created all things and without him nothing was ever created that didn't come through him first. A lot of atheist/scientist try to disprove his existence but in the end everything they say has no foundational basis and will always contradict itself if you really listen to them carefully. Don't allow simple clever words of someone who never took the personal time of truly seeking the Lord Jesus Christ to alter or deter you from seeking after him so that you can obtain an eternal life of peace. By being in Christ there is sustainable peace and without him there is no true peace.
1 John 5:4-5
"For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God."
1 John 2:3-5
"And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments. If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him."
You can simply look at the world and see this because of the way that those who don't even care to try to seek the Lord tend to live their lives. It's full of hardship, shame, complaints, and ungratefulness. Many people in this world tend to always verbally blame God and complain about minimal things but in actuality none of the people who do the aforementioned ever truly seek Jesus to help them. Take it upon yourself before it's too late to understand who he is and what he ultimately did for us to save our eternal lives. Believing in what Christ did is the only way to have a peaceful life after your earthly death.
"For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed."
In case you were wondering I have been restructuring a few things and now i'm going to start back consistently doing the devotionals for those who have been keeping up with me.
Willingness to fully submit these areas to the Lord is the first thing you have to come to terms with in your mindset. Continuing to develop and increase your love for Jesus Christ through daily scripture reading, personal conversation and fervent prayer is a focal point for overcoming any level of stronghold that may dwell within you. From my personal experience the Word of God has to dominate your life in order to build faith and mental strength to defeat any bondage that wasn't sent from our Father in Heaven.
"Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do."
1. The Word of God Has To Dominate Our Lives!
When the Word of God dominates our lives, everything we see begins to align with how God sees it. Our souls become purer over time because they are full of revelation and the power of God's written word is over-flowing inside of it. These are very important keys because lust or anything immoral cannot dwell inside of us for long if we fill ourselves with the Word each and everyday. Our subconscious mind is essentially apart of our soul so whatever you put in it dominates your mind's memory bank. So if you are continuously struggling with thoughts that you know are abnormal then you must allow the Word of God to be seen by your eyes diligently and on a consistent basis so that your subconscious mind can align with the words of scripture.
"So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit."
2 Timothy 2:22
"Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts. Again I say, don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights."
2. Know What Your Weaknesses Are!
Over time once you've learned the different areas that are weaker and easier for you to fall into, it's helps for you in developing your plan for overcoming different levels of strongholds. Knowing in your mind where you're weak at helps you to better prepare for when the same situations arise in the future. When different situations suddenly come up, you will already have your list of options in your head to better fight the adversary back each time. This can only be strengthened first through your own willingness to overcome it. If your willingness is very low then most situations will likely cause you to fall back into the same things and in return the stronghold will become even bigger. But always remember that no matter how strong a bondage is in your life, it cannot compete with the supernatural power of God.
1 Corinthians 6:18-20
"Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body."
3. Use Your God Given Weapons!
Each time you deliberately take a small step(sin) off of the right path with God, the adversary will try to get you to justify your immoral actions within your own mind and in return weakens your fear of God if it's not repented of. We have to always use our God given weapons and not merely our own human reasoning for overcoming things. Listed below shows that the bible has numerous weapons and armor that the Lord has given us to be more than conquerors which he also states in his word. The sword of the Spirit is powerful when the Word of God dominates your life because you can always combat whatever the enemy is telling you at any given moment with scriptures. Prayer is a powerful weapon because it gives God legal authorization to help you. When we don't diligently pray to God then he can't legally help us (see what-happens-when-we-pray.html).
"Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
"Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage."
Before you can start producing and utilizing your faith, you must first make the decision to surrender your life to our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. He is the giver of any kind of faith that we may have because we cannot produce anything godly without the power of God's Holy Spirit. Contrary to whatever combination of eloquent words a non believer may tell you, Jesus Christ is real but you won't experience his true reality if you don't seek him for yourself. If everything you know about him is based off of another persons experiences or words than you'll never have that life changing experience with him and you'll continue to live a life that questions his ability.
Hebrews 10: 23-25
"Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near."
The above scripture talks about how we should always keep our faith in God's promises. There are many different promises in the bible and not all of them will be received by everyone. When you remain faithful/obedient to him and keep the faith in specific promises then they're bound to come to pass at any given moment. As the creator of this universe, God is the only person who cannot lie. The reason that a large number of us never see certain things come to pass in our lives is because after trials and tribulations we'll get weary and give up. The trial is only a test of faith that God imposes upon us to see how much we'll truly rely on him. Personally i've had many of these test in my life and early on in 2016 I failed many of them but as I grew in the Lord and started diligently seeking him, he changed everything completely around and opened doors that I never saw coming.
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is --his good, pleasing and perfect will."
By transforming our minds with the things of Christ(persistent prayer, bible reading, listening to biblical teachings, attending a bible teaching church, obedience to his word, staying around godly friends) our faith in him will inevitably grow. When we allow ourselves to be consumed with wicked things, doubt and constant confusion then you'll almost never be able to see your faith start growing. You can weed out some of your biggest distractions by vetting the value and the people in your friend circle. Many of us have close friends who have never planted any seeds of positivity or faith in our lives.
"In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
