There are many facets to life that many of us don't know about. On my column I give my personal views from real life experiences, sound advice on daily obstacles, and I write out lessons I've learned on my personal journey.
It is very important to understand who you are as a individual and where you stand with Christ as so many issues and catastrophes are currently plaguing us as a nation. Evaluate your life and how you're currently living because we never know when our last day on this earth can be. Since we are in the last days according to the Bible, the adversary is out unleashing all the attacks that he can because he realizes now that his time is almost up to roam around this earth deceiving and destroying people who haven't accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. It is important to also note that while Jesus Christ loves everyone of us the same, we don't all have the same hedge of protection around us from the adversaries attacks. If you haven't accepted Jesus Christ into your heart and as your Lord and Savior then the adversary has a legal right to hinder and influence your life in whatever way he chooses. But on the flip side if you have accepted Jesus Christ and know that he is Lord then you are protected through his blood that was shed and also through your fervent prayers. Never underestimate the power of your prayers. When the enemy knows your prayers are powerful, he will try to make you feel as though your prayers are worthless and powerless. Keep pressing on and stay focused on what your purpose is in life!
Everybody nowadays says they want wholesome friendships or at least they just like to ponder on the thought of it. We compromise many of the morals we initially had to fit into these societal boxes that produce a lot of the deceptive friendships we see today. With deception going around now at a rapid pace it is very important to simply evaluate yourself everyday and think are you being an asset or a liability to the friendships you're in and also evaluate who you're around on a consistent basis. Are they an asset or a liability to you? 1 Corinthians 15:33 says, "Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”" Most people usually can tell what type of person you are just by the people they may see you hang around. In due time you become whatever you hang around so keep this in mind.
The relationship perception that society has out today is very misleading and can deceive you if you don't already know what a healthy and godly relationship is suppose to look like. 2 Corinthians 6:14 says,"Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?" Social media has manipulated the minds of people into wanting these celebrity type relationships which in actuality aren't really built on the right foundations in the first place which is why a lot of divorces happen to what we thought were good couples. Most of it is all influenced by money and what type of status you have in the world. Your unconscious mind controls your behavior and also has the power to compromise and influence your judgments and feelings. Don't let emotions which are physical and feelings which are mental get in the way of you choosing the right spouse. God put man on this earth first and the woman(Eve) was brought along out of the rib of the man (Adam) to compliment him. Genesis 2:18 says, "Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.” The man is suppose to lead and cultivate whomever he chooses as a spouse.
Quite a few people in today's times tend to run away from taking accountability for their behaviors and mistakes. The quickest getaway for some is to intentionally and also unintentionally pass the blame in order to release the guiltiness that plagues them. But do you ever think about what could happen to the other person? What consequences they may face depending on the situation? As a society we have to get better at owning up to our mistakes and taking accountability for the things we do.
Over the last few years I have made many rough mistakes in life, my decision making, and the things I allowed myself to be influenced by. Nevertheless one thing that I have really come to realize as I've made great changes thus far in my life is that it takes true men and women to own up to their mistakes. People who have no moral guidelines or any sense of godly direction in life will almost always seek to hurt others for fulfillment and not take responsibilities for their actions. Proverbs 28:13 says, "People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy."
Self control in many aspects of life is something that most of us tend to struggle with but never want anyone to think that we do. The norm of today is to hide the things you struggle with as no one wants to openly look weak and vulnerable to the outside world. We most times struggle with things because of not realizing the power and the effect on our subconscious mind by the things we allow ourselves to be influenced and entertained by. When you can act or do something that you know is not of you or your character then it means there's something sitting in you subconsciously that influences your actions but your conscious mind can't control it. To get steady control of this you would need to be intentional about the things you allow yourself to entertain on the tv, internet, cellphone and also the friends you keep. Your subconscious mind which stores your memory has control over your contemplation's (Your current mindset) and your imaginations (Your future). So whatever you entertain and be influenced by can alter and greatly determine your mindset and future down the road.
Everyday many people wonder further and further away from who they really are as a person because of today's level of distractions and negative influences all orchestrated by the adversary. Contrary to any trending societal belief, we were all created for our very own specific reason. Sadly many people perish without reaching their destiny or even knowing where their eternal destination will be. While this is one of the most powerful generations known to man, it is also one of the most easily deceived. You have to be able to own your space and not let the influences of others cause you to abort the destiny which you were created for. To find your purpose you need to intentionally separate yourself from habits you know aren't positively benefiting you and the people that influence them into you. Over time this brings clarity to your vision and allows you to learn and apply the lessons from your past. Once you fully understand that you have a purpose in life then it is easier to not live according to what society is telling you to do or follow vainly down the path of others who have no direction with their own lives. Encourage yourself daily and keep moving!
In order to maintain something that's essential like your focus and direction, you have to be very intentional with things each and everyday. Procrastination and laziness nowadays is so easy to consistently fall into if what you're seeking is not actually as important to you. So first and foremost make sure that the (positive) goals or aspirations you're pursuing actually mean something deeply to you and have a radical affect upon you as you think on them. If you have no passion or if it's not your purpose to do what you're doing then sooner or later you'll get weary and tire out because what you were doing was for someone else. There will always be a "why" attached to whatever you do and your answer to it should always inspire someone to keep pushing themselves! Never give up and never lose hope with your life or the goals you set because if it's your gift then it'll make room for you to elevate and succeed at it.
Everyone has had their own personal valley experiences whether you were aware enough at the time to realize it or not. Some experiences we go through happen for such a reason that they come upon us suddenly and without warning only for us to ultimately get the lesson out of it if we've gotten to the end without giving up on ourselves. More times than not as tribulations persist on for some of us we start to unknowingly allow the adversary to alter in the worst way our actions and our perspective on the reality of things we see. While pushing through these periods you have to stay true to yourself and allow the reconditioning of your mindset to stay in alignment with keeping positive moral values. No matter what you face their is always a multitude of people going through worser things that are beyond your reasoning. It's important to reflect and meditate daily on your progress so you don't lose focus on the lessons you've acquired and the faith you've grow in. John 16:33 states "I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
Too many people have been deceived by the adversary in thinking you will fail in your life's endeavors. Never let what others are doing in their lives and what opportunities may have passed them by cause you to put limits on what you can do. We are never limited as long as we keep Jesus at the forefront of our lives and allow him to guide us. No matter what circumstances you're in or whatever your age may be, always remember that your best days are ahead of you if you're intentional about that being your future. We weren't put here to be failures in life and that's one deception that has captivated this world. Always keep in mind that you are supposed to be thriving in whatever your God given passion or purpose in life looks to be. You cannot fail if you tell yourself that you won't!
A lot of us today cloud our vision and thoughts more and more each day by the things we allow to penetrate our eyes and ears. I have learned many tangible lessons from the past about awareness and the importance of knowing who you are without the impact of outside influences. Over time many of us become blind to simple common sense in certain aspects of our very lives because of what we allow to influence us. Self awareness in today's society I believe is at an all time low hence (types of videos going viral, societies trends, people following the wrong crowds for acceptance, people seeking attention in the wrong ways). It's very important to be aware of your everyday actions and the way you allow yourself to think. Reflecting and evaluating on your past and present journey in life every night will go a long way in understanding who you are and knowing the best steps to take next!
Unwarranted distractions are one of the biggest things that hinder people from elevating themselves in the right way and reaching their end goals. Some of us put more effort in wondering and reacting on negative things other people say about you not knowing that those are simply distractions from the adversary to push you out of character. It's very important to get clear focus on what you need to be doing with your life and that comes with praying fervently and without ceasing. Procrastination, depression, fear of failure, negative attention, anxiety, repaying people with evil, and doubt are some of the biggest tools of the adversary that gets people to give in and give up in their individual lives. Over time you have to be able to recognize that everyone's motives and actions will not align with the passion for a certain career that the Lord give each of us who seek him.
Your actions have to prove that you have been grasping what you've been taught in life and by God's word. Anything less is a sign of regression!
